About the Role The Insurance & Retirement Solutions Engineering & Delivery team is responsible for the delivery, support, and day‑to‑day operational management of production and non‑production environments supporting business functions at Corebridge Financial. The Application Development Manager will lead a team of in‑house and vendor developers to design and deliver business solutions while upholding architectural and coding standards.

Responsibilities

Lead, deliver, and support applications across various business functions.

Provide technical guidance, architecture decisions, coding standards, security and best practices.

Bridge the gap between operations and development, utilizing Java and .NET.

Engineer scalable and highly reliable application environments.

Evaluate legacy applications and lead modernization or refactoring efforts.

Establish and enforce development standards, CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices.

Facilitate architecture reviews, release planning, and code reviews.

Engage in troubleshooting complex production issues across systems.

Advocate automated and cloud‑based operational practices.

Skills and Qualifications

6+ years of experience leading and supporting diverse application portfolios.

Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix environments, Active Directory, SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, Exchange, Citrix, WebSphere, Tomcat, etc.

Experience with Splunk, OpenSearch, AppDynamics, JIRA, and other monitoring and issue tracking tools.

Knowledgeable in virtualization (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V) and public cloud (AWS, Azure).

Understanding of client‑server, web, cloud‑native and distributed architectures.

Agile experience using Scrum, Lean, Continuous Delivery, and SRE practices.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Location Houston, TX office – hybrid working policy.

Estimated Travel Up to 25%
