The selected candidate will belong to an approximately fifteen-person shift team. Candidate will be responsible for supporting several cloud-based repositories during the evening (2pm-12am) or midnight (10pm-8am) shift.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and 5+ years of experience is required; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance is required.

Must be willing and able to support one of the shifts mentioned in the responsibilities section.

5 years' experience demonstrating a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of core components of the Linux operating system including the management of user and group accounts in LDAP configuration of DHCP, DNS, and TFTP.

5 years' experience writing software scripts using scripting languages including bash, perl, or pyth

3 years' of experience performing system administration and monitoring large distributed system consisting of: Multiple clusters, clustering implemented across at least 3 racks of equipment, minimum of 60 nodes per site.

5 years' experience writing software scripts using scripting languages including bash, perl, or python.

Security+ certification is required (8570)

One of the following certifications are also required:

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator---Associate

AWS DevOps Engineer Professional

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (1) monitoring system health, (2) troubleshooting/escalating system problems, (3) maintaining storage systems, (4) interfacing with external teams and other parts of the Operations team for hardware, network, and infrastructure support, (5) ensuring system security requirements are satisfied, and (6) administering user accounts.

Basic understanding of low-level network concepts including vlans, port channel bonding and layer 2/layer 3 switch interactions

Experience demonstrating a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of core components of the Linux operating system including the management of user and group accounts in LDAP configuration of DHCP, DNS, and TFTP

Experience with configuration management tools including Puppet, Ansible, and SALT

Experience performing system administration and monitoring large distributed system consisting of multiple clusters, clustering implemented across at least three racks of equipment, and a minimum of 60 nodes per site

Experience writing software scripts using bash, perl, python or a similar language

Experience with Kubernetes orchestration services and Docker images

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing systems including familiarity with distributed systems for storage and retrieval of data e.g. Hadoop, CASSANDRA, SCALITY, SWIFT, Gluster, Lustre, GPFS, Amazon S3, or another comparable technology
