TEEMA Solutions Group
Robotics Platform Lead (Software & Perception)
TEEMA Solutions Group, Glenview, Illinois, United States, 60025
Overview
Robotics Platform Lead (Software & Perception) Revolutionizing Construction Through AI & Robotics The global housing crisis demands revolutionary solutions, not incremental improvements. We are a technology company architecting the
future of construction
through advanced AI and robotics. Our flagship systems represent a fundamental reimagining of how homes are built, delivering unprecedented speed, precision, and affordability. We are seeking a
Robotics Platform Lead
with a strong focus on
Software, Perception, and Motion Planning . This is a highly technical, hands-on role for a leader who thrives at the critical intersection of hardware and software, leveraging advanced robotics to solve real-world industrial challenges. The Mission: Architect the Brains of Our Robotic Systems You will be the core technical leader responsible for the software architecture, algorithms, and integration of the sensing and control systems that enable our large-scale construction robots to perceive their environment and execute tasks autonomously. You\u2019ll coordinate a small, elite team focused on turning raw sensor data into reliable, actionable intelligence. What You\u2019ll Build
Design, integrate, debug, and optimize systems for
Sensor Fusion
to create a robust, unified "world model" from diverse data streams (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, encoders). Work hands-on with algorithms for
SLAM, Visual Odometry (VO/VIO),
and
3D Reconstruction/Point Cloud Processing . Motion Planning & Control:
Implement, tweak, and rigorously test
Robotic Algorithms
for motion planning, path planning, trajectory planning, and obstacle avoidance. Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure software and algorithms are perfectly aligned with mechanical and electrical constraints. Robotics Software Platform:
Develop and manage code and architecture for the core robotics stack. Utilize
Simulation Tools
(e.g., Mujoco, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet) for development, testing, and validation of perception and planning systems. Advanced Autonomy & AI:
Integrate and test state-of-the-art
Computer Vision
models for object detection, recognition, tracking, and semantic segmentation. Contribute to the development and integration of
AI/ML pipelines
for complex tasks, with exposure to
Reinforcement Learning (RL) . Experience with
Agentic AI
in Robotics is a significant advantage. Technical Leadership & Mentoring:
Serve as the primary technical expert for the robotics software team, mentoring engineers and conducting in-depth design and code reviews. Emphasized Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a deeply technical problem-solver who can "figure it out" when faced with unique challenges and exhibits strong systems thinking across disciplines. Core Technical Requirements
Robotics Software Expertise (5+ Years):
Deep, practical experience at the
intersection of hardware and software
in robotic or autonomous systems. Perception & Sensor Fusion:
In-depth experience with the principles and practical application of
Sensor Fusion
(tweaking, debugging, and testing algorithms for state estimation). Direct experience with at least a few of the following core concepts: SLAM
(Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) Visual Odometry (VO / VIO) Object Detection / Tracking / Semantic Segmentation Motion Planning & Algorithms:
In-depth experience with
Motion Control
and robotic related algorithms for
path planning, trajectory planning, and obstacle avoidance . Crucial Note:
You must possess solid skills in
tweaking, debugging, and testing
existing and generated algorithms; experience writing all algorithms from scratch is not required. Tools & Simulation:
Direct experience with
Robotics Simulation tools
(e.g., Mujoco, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet) for system development and validation. AI/ML Exposure:
General understanding or exposure to
AI/ML pipeline development , especially for
Reinforcement Learning (RL) . Leadership & Systems Thinking Technical Leadership:
At least a couple of years of experience in technical team leadership, mentoring, and ensuring software excellence. Problem-Solving Acumen:
The ability to be an
"out of the box" thinker
and a
"systems thinker"
who can quickly understand and solve novel, complex, and unique problems. Screening Note:
Candidates must be able to provide concrete, detailed examples of times they had to 'figure something out' when faced with a unique problem. Location, Reporting, and Compensation
Location:
Glenview, IL Reports To:
VP of Technology Employment Type:
Full-Time Senior Technical Position Compensation:
Senior-level compensation with
equity
and comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement). Why This Opportunity Is Extraordinary
This is your chance to architect the core intelligence of machines that will transform a multi-trillion-dollar industry. You will be at the cutting edge of applying
industrial precision robotics
to rugged, large-scale construction performance, making a direct physical impact on housing affordability and accessibility for millions. Join an elite, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to solving truly hard, rewarding problems. Application Requirements
Please submit a technical resume highlighting relevant robotics and software projects, a cover letter explaining your specific experience in perception/motion planning, and references from engineering peers or leaders. Are you ready to architect the brains of the machines that build tomorrow?
