Job Description – Senior Research Scientist (2503739) Senior Research Scientist

Required Qualification Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent. Five years of full-time research experience in breast cancer, including at least three years of research experience following attainment of a doctoral degree.

Preferred Qualification PhD/MD in molecular biology, genetics, or cancer. Experience in CART‑T cell therapy and clinical trial design.

Brief Description of Duties Stony Brook University has a Senior Research Scientist position to lead research in the Cancer Center. The incumbent will independently design research and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The incumbent will serve as the lead scientist in the Lab.

Duties

Plan, design and implement research experiments in breast cancer, ovarian cancer, CAR‑T cell therapy in organoids and animals to achieve research objectives.

Oversee the preparation of grant proposals and applications.

Prepare papers for publication and present results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.

Supervise, plan, organize and evaluate the activities of others including postdoctoral associates, research support positions and graduate assistants.

Maintain all laboratory records consistent with University policy.

Collaborate with members of scientific communities, nationally and internationally.

Other duties as assigned.

Special Notes The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
