Position Overview
Lead a team of approximately 40 professionals in executing all procurement activities for the organization. Drive strategic sourcing, manage global supplier relationships, ensure cost-effective acquisition of brands for global awards, and maintain a high-performance, data-driven culture.
Responsibilities
Strategic Merchandising:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals, ensuring the right inventory at the right time. Identify global market trends, reduce risk, and optimize purchasing processes.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Assist buyers in selecting new suppliers, build and maintain strong relationships, and monitor supplier performance for compliance and quality.
Budget Oversight:
Manage the purchasing department’s budget, ensuring cost efficiency and effective resource allocation.
Inventory Management:
Oversee the procurement process from material creation to delivery, maintain optimal inventory levels, and lead cycle counting activities.
Leadership & Team Development:
Coach, mentor, and foster a high-performance culture; set and track KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
Compliance & Regulation:
Ensure procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
Company Culture:
Lead initiatives that foster appreciation, respect, and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPSM) preferred.
Experience:
7–10+ years in retail buying or merchandising, with at least 5 years in managerial or senior leadership roles. Global procurement management experience is a strong plus.
Leadership:
Proven ability to provide strategic direction and inspire teams.
Negotiation:
Strong track record of securing favorable contract terms and achieving cost savings.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools such as Excel and Tableau.
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to build relationships with global stakeholders.
Industry Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of global market dynamics, supply chain best practices, and relevant industry trends.
