Schedule 40-hour work week . Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities :
Venipuncture and specimen collection:
Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques promptly; maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment; process and prepare specimens for testing and transport; troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection, testing, and equipment; give proper patient collection instructions (i.e., urine collection, stool collection, etc.); instruct patients in post-phlebotomy care; properly dispose of bio-hazardous and sharps materials; obtain specimens for microbiology testing; order sufficient supplies to perform the workload and rotate stock to prevent the use of outdated supplies; follow the venipuncture and processing standards of work (SOW) including positive identification of all patient specimens.
Perform waived laboratory testing :
Performs both waived laboratory testing; maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and laboratory procedures; perform quality control and calibration procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results; participate in quality assurance and quality control activities including proficiency testing; follow the resulting and processing standards of work (SOW); participate in competency assessment; follow the Calling Critical Value policy.
Customer Experience :
Interact with patients and healthcare providers in a professional and compassionate manner; while registering patients, follow the reception standard of work (SOW); problem solve efficiently and promptly; locate missing lab orders and specimens; maintain competent and efficient phone skills.
Documented training program to include all elements of CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1423
Ability to travel to other locations if needed
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
BLS certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Completion of a phlebotomy certificate program through an accredited school
6+ months of experience as a Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) and certification to perform capillary and venous procedures under supervision
Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and solid computer skills
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to other draw stations
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of blood-drawing experience
1+ years of phlebotomy experience (additional appropriate education may substitute for the minimum experience)
Previous laboratory experience
Pediatrics phlebotomy experience
Soft Skills
Ability to work independently with good judgment and accountability
Ability to work well in small or large teams
Strong collaboration with health care providers
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive programs, and 401(k) participation. The hourly pay range for this role is $16.00 to $27.69 per hour (full-time).
