Job Description Entegris uses advanced science to enable technologies that transform the world. We seek employees who have the drive to continue the mission. This co‑op will be based in San Luis Obispo, CA, and is a 6‑month assignment. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive the successful pull of products—specifically Gas Purification Systems—from development to manufacturing using a Stage Gate Process.

Responsibilities

Serve as a core team member for assigned NPI projects, acting as the liaison between NPD Engineering and Operations to pull products to market.

Work closely with NPD Engineering to proactively influence product and process design for better manufacturability.

Participate in the development of manufacturing plans (manufacturability, material planning, chemical/waste plan, ramp/capacity planning, cost roadmap, etc.).

Contribute to improvement projects (yield, process capability, etc.) to maximize gross margin, predictability, and repeatability; potentially lead a sub‑project.

Prepare process documentation to support product launch.

Manage customer samples and V&Q builds; work with Operations to provide special instructions as required.

Assist in directing and controlling processes per defined policies and procedures; analyze and audit processes to recommend improvements.

Help NPD technicians outline the build process for new products and refine instructions where needed.

Develop visual work instructions (VWIs) to provide step‑by‑step build processes for operators.

Review routing reports to verify work centers, control keys, time standards, and operation descriptions are accurate.

Qualifications

Strong teamwork skills; learn from teammates and share ideas.

Motivated, self‑directed team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills.

Ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities to accomplish division goals.

SolidWorks experience is a plus.

Desired Major: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or similar.

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of May 2026 or later.

Eligibility

Must be a currently enrolled student.

Available to work 40 hours a week, Monday‑Friday (8 a.m.‑5 p.m.) beginning in January through June.

Must be familiar with the university’s co‑op program requirements.

Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting of light equipment to assist with manufacturing activities related to new products.
