Gansevoort Hotel Group is looking for a Membership Director to lead our Seven24Collective private members club.

The Membership Director will be responsible for driving membership growth through strategic sales initiatives. This role is focused on attracting high‑quality members, developing innovative outreach strategies, and achieving ambitious membership sales targets.

We expect the ideal candidate to have a strong background in sales and strategy within luxury, hospitality, or exclusive membership environments, and a proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.

Primary Functions

Deliver the full membership budget each year, achieving revenue targets and full quarterly and annual targets for new application approvals and member retention.

Develop and implement a comprehensive membership sales strategy to drive enrollment and achieve set membership targets.

Conduct market research to identify potential member segments and growth opportunities within the luxury membership sector.

Create and execute targeted sales initiatives, including outreach to industry‑specific networks, to increase membership enrollment.

Collaborate with the marketing team to promote membership offerings through tailored campaigns designed to attract prospective members.

Lead and manage the membership development team, setting clear goals and performance metrics to drive membership acquisition.

Provide training and support to team members to ensure high‑quality sales interactions and consistent messaging aligned with the club's brand.

Foster a performance‑driven culture within the team, focused on exceeding membership sales targets.

Track membership sales metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, detailing sales performance, market trends, and growth forecasts.

Analyze data to continuously refine sales strategies, adjusting outreach and acquisition tactics based on feedback and performance metrics.

Stay informed about competitor offerings and market conditions to ensure Seven24Collective remains competitive in the luxury membership sector.

Analyze in‑house data to convert existing non‑members (day passes, guests of members, hotel guests, etc.).

Actively engage in networking opportunities, representing Seven24Collective at industry events, conferences, and relevant gatherings to promote membership sales.

Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to create lead generation channels that support membership growth.

Specific Accountabilities

Recruit, lead, and inspire a high‑performing membership team that represents our membership profile.

Set performance goals and provide mentorship to ensure the team excels in delivering targets, high‑quality members, and an exceptional membership experience; provide regular feedback and direction.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results‑driven team culture.

Build, grow, and manage Membership Committees, ensuring they are balanced in terms of age, ethnicity, gender, industry, and experience.

Motivate and engage committee members to actively participate in the membership process.

Use tracking metrics to regularly review the composition and effectiveness of committees to maintain high performance.

Maintain a consistent and high caliber of membership, reinforcing the brand’s reputation.

Ensure all administrative processes for membership applications and renewals are handled efficiently and accurately.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless member journey from application to onboarding.

Work cross‑functionally to deliver engagement strategies for new members in their first year to improve year‑one retention figures.

Enhance brand awareness through strategic local partnerships and community engagement.

Lead efforts to address member behavior issues, working closely with the team to handle sensitive conversations.

Oversee and ensure the smooth and successful launch of the new Seven24Collective club in Hudson Valley.

Oversee membership recruitment and local engagement strategies for new openings, ensuring the right community is built from the start.

Spend time in the club, throughout the day including weekends and evenings, to be a visible and approachable presence within the clubs, ensuring an engaging, welcoming, and vibrant environment for all members.

Be present to help host the club and support teams with membership management during large events.

Required Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, membership development, or business development within luxury or hospitality settings.

Proven track record of exceeding membership or sales targets.

Exceptional ability to drive sales growth through persuasive communication, strong relationship‑building, and a customer‑focused approach.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing sales team.

Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed, strategic sales decisions.

Passion for building connections and achieving results in a competitive market.

Flexibility to work schedules that include weekends, late evenings, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work stationary at least 8 hours per day and/or stand for 8–10 hours to conduct trade shows.

Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate with potential guests by phone.

Must be able to pull, lift, or move packages of at least 40 pounds.

Must be able to move inside the office to make copies and send faxes.

Must be able to reach and handle computers, keys, paper, and items on the top of a desk.

Must have depth perception and balance, for overall performance, and be able to work with computers.

Compensation & Benefits The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. Starting salary range is set at $120,000–$135,000 + annual bonus. Full benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, commuter benefit, paid time off, and other company perks.
