About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled, passionate, and organized Sous Chef to join our Operations team. In this full-time, hourly position, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the seamless execution of kitchen operations. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and workplace safety while inspiring and guiding the kitchen team. What You'll Do
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and service.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high performance and teamwork.
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring stock levels.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen in adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Handle quality checks to ensure food is prepared according to company standards.
Step into the Head Chef’s role when needed, including leading kitchen operations and addressing any issues.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and innovate menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Monitor and manage kitchen workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any repair needs promptly.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food safety standards.
Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A culinary arts degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Familiarity with inventory management and budgeting principles.
Adept at maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
