Health Plan Medical Director Physician - MedStar Family Choice, Maryland - Remote Opportunity MedStar Health invites applicants for the Health Plan Medical Director Physician position within our Medicaid Managed Care organization, Family Choice, located in the Baltimore, MD area. This is a remote telehealth position.

Responsibilities:

Participate in development and daily execution of case & population health management, disease management, utilization review, and other health plan operations. Conduct daily reviews of inpatients, pre‑certification requests, pharmacy requests, ED visits, appeals, and consult with nurse case managers and associates to ensure daily operations run smoothly. Make utilization review decisions based on UM criteria and medical necessity.

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of clinical experience with progressively responsible leadership. Health plan experience preferred. Must reside in DC/Maryland area. Must hold medical licenses in DC and Maryland.

Compensation:

Hiring range: $240,000 - $285,000. Salary commensurate with experience.
