We are seeking an experienced

Tax Director

to lead and grow the Bay Area tax practice of our boutique growing CPA partner client. This high‑impact leadership role oversees tax strategy, client service, and team development across multiple offices, helping integrate capabilities within a broader national platform.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and expand the Bay Area tax practice, driving growth, client service excellence, and multi‑office team leadership.

Deliver high‑quality advisory and compliance services to entrepreneurial businesses, family offices, and high‑net‑worth individuals.

Serve as a strategic advisor on complex matters, including structuring, transactions, and planning opportunities.

Unify processes, share best practices, and implement consistent quality and technology standards across the practice.

Grow the book through expanded services to existing clients and business development across the Bay Area.

Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing team and foster a collaborative, growth‑oriented culture.

Partner with firm leadership and shared services to leverage data, modern tooling, and operational innovation.

Qualifications

Active CPA

license required.

10+ years

of progressive experience in business taxation (Big 4, large national, or top regional experience ideal).

Demonstrated success leading client engagements and growing a tax practice.

Strong technical depth across corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.

Excellent client relationship, communication, and executive presence.

Proven leadership in developing, mentoring, and managing teams.

Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in a dynamic, growth‑focused environment.
