Under the direction of the Dental and Optometry Administrative Supervisor, the Patient Services Coordinator I is responsible for providing exemplary customer service, patient registration and documentation, appointment scheduling, managing patient flow, collecting daily cash, and opening and closing the receptionist station daily.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts between 8 am and 7 pm weekdays, with Saturdays 8 am–1 pm as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide exemplary customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.

Register new and existing patients, entering demographic and insurance data accurately.

Verify patient eligibility and collect co-payments at check-in.

Schedule appointments based on patient needs and provider availability.

Manage patient flow, including opening and closing the reception station.

Collect daily cash, verify transactions, run reports, and audit discrepancies.

Handle reception duties efficiently and courteously.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.

Willingness to work with a diverse patient population.

Availability Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings until 7 pm; Saturdays 8 am–1 pm.

Ability to work harmoniously with diverse colleagues, patients, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Epic and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of business procedures including cash handling.

Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.

Physical Requirements

Must sit at a computer station for extended periods.

Must be able to type for extended periods.
