WOLF advanced technology is hiring a full‑time Sr. Engineer, Hardware, SBC to join our high‑performance product development team in the United States (on‑site/remote). Candidates located near Melbourne, FL or Madison, WI can work on‑site or in a hybrid capacity.
Reporting Line Reporting to the Sr. Engineer, Technology: SBC & Embedded Security Solutions, you’ll design rugged SBC solutions that power aerospace and defense systems worldwide.
Responsibilities
Design and innovate: Translate complex requirements into schematic designs for rugged embedded systems that meet strict aerospace and defense standards.
Collaborate cross‑functionally: Partner with PCB, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to integrate components into mission‑ready products.
Drive performance: Evaluate high‑speed interfaces, power distribution networks, and advanced GPUs/SoCs to push computing limits in extreme environments.
Validate reliability: Plan and execute compliance testing, thermal characterization, and bring‑up to ensure flawless performance under MIL‑STD conditions.
Advance technology: Research and integrate cutting‑edge video, AI acceleration, and interconnect solutions into next‑generation designs.
Document with precision: Create and review detailed specifications, schematics, and BOMs that align with aerospace standards and internal processes.
Champion quality: Engage with production and quality teams to optimize workflows, improve reliability, and streamline design‑to‑production cycles.
Qualifications With a
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
and
8+ years of experience designing mixed‑signal hardware systems , you’re ready to own complex schematic design and drive innovation in rugged SBC computing.
Proficiency in schematic‑level design; high‑speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR4, GDDR6); video standards HDMI, DisplayPort, SMPTE.
Experience with MIL‑STD‑810, DO‑160, IPC, ITAR compliance; rugged form factors VPX, XMC.
Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards DO‑254, DO‑178, DO‑177.
Hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Jetson, arm‑based SoCs, or x86/NVIDIA GPU integration.
Strong understanding of serial communication protocols UART, SPI, I²C, CAN.
Experience using Cadence OrCAD, Allegro PCB Editor or similar schematic/layout tools.
Cross‑functional collaboration with PCB, firmware, mechanical, production engineers.
Analytical problem‑solving and clear communication skills.
