The Sr. Engineer, Microsoft Purview role will play a pivotal role in supporting our data security strategy and program across all brands. This role will manage Microsoft Purview solutions including Compliance Manager, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Loss Prevention, DSPM, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management and others. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Data Discovery, Data Classification, Sensitivity Labels, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

Administer and configure Microsoft Purview solutions. Design, test, deploy and manage Purview controls and policy effectiveness.

Partner with Business Units to ensure Purview controls and policies are adequate.

Maintain compliance with relevant data protection regulations, including GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to relevant data protection standards.

Ensure KPIs related to data security are accurately tracked and reported. Analyze KPI data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary enhancements.

Regularly review global data security policies and standards. Provide input and recommendations to address gaps and adapt to changing regulations and industry best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years of IT experience at a global scale with a minimum of 5 years of cyber security experience working with data security programs.

Expertise implementing and managing Microsoft Purview solutions (including Compliance Manager and Information Protection).

Experience working with global data security programs and technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In-depth understanding of Microsoft Purview solutions including Compliance Manager, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Loss Prevention, DSPM, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management and others.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards such as GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

High attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing security landscapes and emerging threats.

Strong ethical judgment and integrity in handling sensitive information.

Understanding of data at rest and in transit encryption methods.

Physical Demands: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely.

This position is classified as “remote.” A remote role allows employees to work full-time from their home. It may also require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in‑office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnival’s remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. If the search is extended past those areas, candidates must be located in one of the following U.S. states: FL, GA, TX, and NC.
