implementation of a modern manufacturing management system for Gilead, (e.g. Lean Manufacturing) and co-ordination with similar efforts across PDM.* Defining the organizational and operational strategy for the Manufacturing organization.
Must include defining the process for periodic review and leading the Manufacturing LT through that process.
Define and deliver on the projects identified as part of the Manufacturing strategy.
Lead the collaboration with PDM Network Strategy and Project Management teams.* Define and implement metrics to drive visibility to the operational performance of the Manufacturing network, definition and maintenance of resource models to support the sites, functions and PDM portfolio management, and
leadership of the Operational and Capital budgeting process (including a multi-year view). Providing centralized resource management for Manufacturing resources defined in G.Plan (Planisware) to include updating templates, providing program specific resource models, creating portfolio-wide resource models, and scenarios for demand and supply planning.* The opportunity to design, build, and lead a high-performing organization to drive strategic initiatives and centralize activities in support of Manufacturing’s global product, pipeline, and people goals.* The delivery of strategic innovation for global Manufacturing by creating a vibrant cross-functional ecosystem that supports agile empowered teams.
Scanning the external environment to develop a roadmap to define where and when we invest.* Management of purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, procurement and planning processes and other logistics and business processes needed to support the interaction with contract manufacturing organizations.* Requires a
Masters degree or Ph.D. with 16+ years of relevant professional experience, or BS with 16+ years of relevant professional experience – a degree in a relevant scientific or business discipline is strongly preferred.* Strong business acumen.* Excellent organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.* Experience with CMC requirements for drug development and manufacturing of a range of product modalities.* Comprehensive understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry, R&D, and product commercialization, including the regulatory framework, and of global biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector and trends in that sector.* Familiarity with FDA and ICH guidelines relating to registration, quality, and compliance concerning drug substance, drug product, and devices.* Experience in managing organizational cross-functional initiatives and/or business operations programs.* Strategic thinking and ability to influence and constructively challenge the status quo.* Ability to manage multiple priorities, to draw out diverse views, and to show tact and discretion in challenging situations.* Proven ability to effectively manage complex and ambiguous projects, influence stakeholders without authority, effectively network across the organization and communicate with senior leaders all within a fast moving, challenging and dynamic environment.* Experience defining the strategy and/or implementing a manufacturing management system.* Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modelling inclusion and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.* Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential.
