The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated
Data Scientist
to join our
General Motor Audit Services
team. The ideal candidate will apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques to enhance audit processes, assess risk, and deliver actionable insights. You will work across teams to develop tools and models that support audit planning, fieldwork, and continuous monitoring, while contributing to the evolution of data-driven auditing practices.
What You’ll Do:
Design, build, and implement
predictive models and machine learning algorithms
to identify risk indicators and support audit selection and scoping.
Develop
risk assessment frameworks
and anomaly detection tools to support internal audit objectives.
Collaborate with audit teams to understand business processes, identify relevant data sources, and translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
Extract, clean, transform, and analyze complex datasets using
SQL, Python, and R .
Deliver high-quality visualizations and reports that communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise in
data science and audit analytics
to support strategic audit planning and ongoing risk assessments.
Independently manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science, audit technology, and regulatory requirements.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a data science, analytics, or audit-related role.
Proficiency in
Python, R, and SQL
for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
Solid understanding of
predictive modeling , machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques.
Familiarity with
risk management frameworks , internal controls, and audit methodologies (e.g., COSO, SOX, or similar).
Experience working with structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to
work independently
and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
