City Council has invested in quality‑of‑life improvements, including recent upgrades to the Historic Hostess House, Campbell Park Skate Park, bike trails, Hancock Park Spring Feed Pool, and the 580 Sports Park and Rodeo Arena. Council also commits to increasing utility capacity in anticipation of growth.

Staff and elected officials value community partnerships, including the Lampasas Association for the Arts‑Sculpture Garden, Cooper Spring Nature Park Foundation, Lampasas Trails Association, and Vision Lampasas‑murals and gateway signage.

Scope of Services and Responsibility Lampasas is a full‑service city with water distribution, sewer collection and treatment, electric distribution, an 18‑hole golf course, an airport, police and fire departments, a library, and a citizen collection station. The city’s annual operating budget is $34 million, with a staff of 120 FTEs. The city is a home‑rule municipal corporation governed under a council‑manager form. The City Manager also serves as Executive Director of the Lampasas Economic Development Corporation. Candidates must be familiar with home‑rule municipalities, governance, and operations of municipally‑owned utilities.

The City Manager will develop the city’s workforce, enhancing technical ability, competency, customer service, and efficiency. The incumbent will create a positive public image of the city and staff through action, example, and leadership.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted at Council’s discretion. Experience in a similar‑sized community with an electric utility is preferred. Salary range is in the mid‑$100,000’s.
