Job Description The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Haas CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components. This role requires expertise in G-code programming, CAD/CAM software, and hands‑on machining experience. The ideal candidate will support production goals by optimizing machine performance, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes.
Produce precision components using G‑code programming and CAD/CAM software.
Optimize machine performance to support production goals.
Ensure quality standards are met consistently.
Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Train and mentor junior machinists.
Essential Skills
Expertise in G‑code programming.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
Hands‑on machining experience.
Experience with 3‑axis, 4th, and 5th axis Haas mills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols.
Experience with tight tolerances (e.g., ±0.0002") and high‑precision parts.
Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing practices.
Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG) is a plus.
Proficiency in CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidWorks CAM.
Understanding of machining principles, feeds/speeds, and tool selection.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining, specifically with Haas equipment.
Work Environment The work environment is a machine shop setting within a small to midsize family‑owned company that offers a supportive atmosphere with minimal politics. The role involves working straight shifts, with available hours from 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, and 11 PM to 7 AM.
Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00 /hr.
