Linux Systems Administrator – Distributed Compute Operations team at Symantrix Inc. The role supports critical Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations functions, including incident management, change execution, day‑to‑day operations, and contributing to operations KPIs and metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Support server operations in EI&O, handling incident management and change executions.
Maintain stability and drive high‑severity incident resolution.
Contribute to operational KPIs, trends, and metrics.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve root causes and implement improvements.
Participate in on‑call coverage.
Required Experience & Skills
5+ years of IT experience across server and storage infrastructure technologies.
Proficient with Linux (Red Hat Linux 7/8/9) and shell scripting, Python, and preferably Node or Angular.
Strong troubleshooting of OS, hardware, and storage issues.
Virtualization experience – VMware ESX (and optional OLVM, AIX, OpenStack).
Experience with change management, incident calls, and agile IT service management.
On‑call coverage experience.
Knowledge of SAN/NAS/CAS, storage subsystems, and Veritas products (optional).
Willingness to identify gaps and implement process improvements for stability.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation / Cluster Server.
Windows, VMware, Oracle Logical Volume Manager expertise.
Experience with HP, Dell, IBM AIX infrastructure.
Experience managing Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM).
