Domestic Violence Shelter Supportive Services Manager – YWCA Clark County

Full-time
Hours:
40 hours per week (32 regular work hours, 8 company-sponsored hours)
Schedule:
Tuesday – Friday (12:00 pm – 8:30 pm; earlier start on Wednesdays for meetings)
Compensation:
$28.51 per hour + $1.00 Bilingual Differential + $1.00 Weekend Differential

Summary The SafeChoice Shelter Supportive Services Manager oversees mental and behavioral health partnerships to facilitate supportive and low‑barrier emergency shelter services to survivors of domestic violence. This role includes planning crisis intervention trainings, developing and maintaining partnerships with mental health and behavioral health providers, supervising staff and volunteers in collaboration with the Director of Shelter Services, and providing leadership that aligns with agency values while modeling positive self‑care. The position also entails on‑site leadership, direct service delivery when needed, data entry, and program reporting.

Program Management and Supervision
Track expenses related to shelter services and operations.
Work closely with the Director of Shelter Services and Vice President of Domestic Violence Services to establish and maintain policies or procedures that meet contract, grant, state, and federal requirements.
Identify and report on health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage; comply with workplace policies and risk‑management procedures.
Ensure all direct reports meet YWCA and grant/contract‑required domestic violence training, service provision, and reporting requirements.
Develop a crisis intervention training plan for SafeChoice staff, volunteers, and interns.
Develop and maintain a hotline training plan for SafeChoice staff, volunteers, and interns; supervise hotline volunteers.
Collaborate with community partners to create and manage schedules for on‑site mental health or behavioral health services.
Facilitate team meetings, debriefings, and individual staff check‑ins with direct reports.
Act as liaison with community partners with an emphasis on mental and behavioral health providers.
Provide information to local social service agencies regarding SafeChoice shelter services and statistics.
Collaborate with the Family Services Manager to ensure supportive services are available and accessible to families at the shelter.
Provide 24‑hour back‑up support for shelter staff via a rotating work‑cell‑phone schedule.
Assist with shift coverage for the shelter, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
Manage additional projects related to shelter services.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and internal regulations (e.g., Washington Administrative Code, confidentiality laws, mandatory reporting).
Track and record program statistics through Empower DB and other required databases.
Attend and actively participate in organization and community meetings as needed.
Commute throughout Clark County and surrounding areas as required.
Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 pounds and remaining seated or standing for extended periods.
Meet annual program training requirements and provide additional support for SafeChoice services when needed.
Requirements
Strong foundation in social justice and anti‑racism principles are essential.
Knowledge of trauma‑informed best practices for survivors.
Associate’s degree in social services, mental health, or related field, or 2 years of equivalent experience.
Two years of experience providing advocacy to domestic violence victims.
Minimum of 50 hours of domestic violence training and advocacy in the past 3 years.
One year of experience coaching, guiding, supervising staff and/or volunteers.
Experience in shelter or residential services for trauma‑impacted populations.
Experience working with mental health or behavioral health services.
Background check clearance.
Completion of required training pursuant to WAC 388‑61A‑1085.
Strong team‑working, project‑management, problem‑solving, technology, and soft‑skill capabilities.
