Job Summary
Immediate need for a talented IT Server Administrator II. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long‑term potential and is located in West Bountiful, UT (Onsite). Key Responsibilities
Server Administration:
Set up new servers, decommission old servers
Support applications running on servers
Primarily Windows servers; some Linux boxes and VMware vSphere management
Initial configuration for servers; SQL management is minimal, with central SQL team handling in‑depth tasks
Collaborate with central server and application teams
Network Administration (Backup):
Provide support for network tasks under supervision
Environment primarily uses Aruba (Cisco‑like), basic networking knowledge sufficient
Opportunity for training and growth in networking
Desktop Support (Backup):
Level 1 and Level 2 support as needed, mostly when desktop support staff is unavailable or for larger projects
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
Key Skills:
Windows Server administration, Linux, VMware/Virtual machines, Networking, Desktop support and Scripting.
Strong server administration fundamentals, particularly Windows Server environments
Basic networking knowledge (experience with Cisco or similar networking systems helpful)
Familiarity with VMware vSphere a plus
Ability to collaborate with central teams for cloud or SQL‑related issues
Hands‑on, in‑person presence required, with occasional remote support
Scripting skills (PowerShell or other) — not required but advantageous
Eagerness to learn and grow in networking or server automation
Prior experience with Linux servers
Role supports multiple sites (Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico)
Majority of cloud infrastructure managed by central team; field role primarily on‑prem
Emphasis on flexibility and willingness to assist with cross‑functional IT support
