Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $69,000 - $101,191. New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater experience. Lane’s benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, basic term life, long‑term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave. Lane Community College is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Full‑time employees working at the College may qualify for loan forgiveness after 120 qualifying payments.
Working Schedule:
Full‑time, generally Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. Variable work hours, weekends, evenings and/or travel may be required.

Required Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in educational research, statistics, psychology, computer science, data science, information science, systems science, operations research, or related field. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted by either of the following: two‑year associate’s degree plus four (4) years of full‑time experience in systematic reporting; or eight (8) years of directly related experience in the field.
Required Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience with each of the following areas:
Working with complex data systems, writing code, and accessing data in relational databases, including data validity, reliability and data modeling.
Developing, interpreting, and summarizing data that is presented in custom reports, including descriptive and inferential statistics.
Using Excel and standard software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite and web‑based applications) for data analysis.
Communicating effectively in English, both orally and in writing, to collate, analyze and report on research and surveys.
At least one (1) year of experience in a position that required:
Intermediate knowledge of data mining and management for large data sets involving integrated database systems, networks, and software.
Explaining complex data concepts to non‑technical audiences, including faculty, administrators, and the public.
Using standard survey software (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, LMS tools) to design and administer surveys.
Conditions of Employment:

Advanced data analytics and programming skills (Python, SPSS, SAS, R, S‑plus).

Position Purpose This position supports the College through systematic institutional research reporting and data analytics/science. The analyst extracts data from multiple information systems; validates, transforms, and analyzes those data; and submits reports in support of institutional compliance, key mandates, and institutional goals. The analyst works closely with the Director to advance institutional effectiveness through research, collection, statistical analysis, interpretation, visualization, and presentation of data to diverse audiences.
Essential Functions
Incorporate emerging technology and maintain knowledge of software utilities in data gathering and analysis (Access, Excel, SQL, SPSS, SAS, STATA).
Coordinate acquisition of institutional, instructional, and student data from internal and external sources; work with IT to define data parameters.
Oversee preparation and submission of state and federal reports; liaise with reporting agencies.
Oversee systematic data audit, problem‑solving, and improvement processes for the college data warehouse.
Perform detailed analyses and report findings to stakeholders, translating complex information for appropriate delivery.
Support staff and faculty in interpreting data; conduct research projects, surveys, and assessments with validity, integrity, and consistency.
Foster cooperative relationships with college staff, other organizations, and the public.
Develop procedures for querying and mining tools to evaluate data.
Maintain safeguards for confidential information.
Respond to internal data requests, focusing research questions and data needs.
Fulfill routine and ad hoc requests for institutional research in a timely manner.
Develop, implement, and support interactive data reports including web‑based dashboards (e.g., Argos, Tableau).
Assist with research in connection with mission fulfillment, accreditation, assessment, IRB, program reviews, portfolio reviews, grant development and evaluation, and annual planning.
Maintain compliance with college policies and procedures; manage sensitive information in line with FERPA standards.
Other duties as assigned.
