Responsibilities
Own the design, analysis, release and testing of driveline & axle components, ensuring compliance with technical infrastructure and FCA PCPC.
Deliver complete design and product delivery against technical requirements for assigned components and products.
Develop subject‑matter expertise for selected components or assemblies.
Coach entry‑level engineers as needed.
Act as single point of contact for suppliers’ product engineering.
Manage and track supplier product engineering activities, including test plans and execution.
Prepare engineering work plans in accordance with program/project timing and milestones.
Complete advanced analysis and simulation of actuation mechanisms, including electro‑mechanical and servo‑hydraulic subsystems.
Execute engineering deliverables per technical infrastructure, deliverables, reviews, signoffs and report‑outs.
Develop technical requirements for components and subsystems of driveline & axles, including purchased assemblies.
Complete required technical source package documentation to support supplier quotes.
Evaluate designs against engineering best‑practice documents and conduct supplier design reviews.
Capture lessons learned and ensure timely execution of calculations, analysis and simulation to meet test plans.
Develop DFMEAs and evaluate designs for failure‑mode robustness.
Execute component and subsystem DVP&R plans to validate new designs and design changes, including DRBTR.
Support development of system DVP&Rs.
Develop tools, test procedures and acceptance criteria for driveline & axles, components, sub‑assemblies and purchased assemblies.
Collaborate on design detailing and CAE activities.
Ensure transfer functions and physics‑based analysis are defined and documented for all actuation subsystems and components.
Deliver EBOM, models and drawings for components, sub‑assemblies and purchased assemblies.
Generate engineering documentation in support of change management, including DRBFM.
Deliver parts/hardware to pilot builds, including requisitions for prototypes and ED&D.
Collaborate with transmission and driveline systems experts to address failures using appropriate tools and processes.
Prepare status reports and presentations for management and CE organization.
Support manufacturing on production‑related issues.
Generate cost‑reduction ideas and develop corresponding design and validation plans.
Participate in warranty/cost‑reduction meetings and develop solutions for warranty issues.
Conduct root‑cause analysis of driveline & axle failures.
Conduct layered process audits at supplier plants for assigned components.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Experience in the automotive industry or product engineering design, validation and engineering projects with OEM and/or tier‑n suppliers.
Strong understanding of vehicle functions, general vehicle architecture, typical automotive manufacturing and quality processes.
Advanced English language skills (90% read/write).
Proficient with MS Office.
Leadership, organization, planning, decision‑making and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and drive lasting change through effective communication.
Proactive, self‑driven, team‑oriented.
Efficient work under pressure with strong communication skills.
Training in problem‑solving techniques.
Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Lead and manage suppliers.
Travel required to supplier and corporate engine/transmission/vehicle assembly plants (USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia).
Assembly and CAD (NX, CATIA).
Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical engineering.
Green/Black Belt in Shainin or DFSS.
Experience in transmission, driveline & axles or related area.
Knowledge of Stellantis systems and/or products.
CAE/CFD experience with powertrain structures.
Fundamentals of CAN communications.
Experience with electric motors for automotive applications.
Knowledge of casting and injection molding processes.
Other languages: Italian or French.
Must Have's
Design / Development Experience of Driveline / Axles.
Validation (DVP&R).
Technical Program Management.
Additional Information
Onsite – 100 %.
Requires occasional company vehicle driving.
Travel: 20 % local and/or Canada.
