Base pay range $170,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

Senior Search Consultant at Fourth Floor, a division of Career Group Companies Our client, a luxury sleepwear brand is looking to hire a Controller for their New York City office.

Position Summary:

The

Controller

will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, driving process improvements, managing internal controls, and delivering timely and accurate financial reporting. This is a high-impact leadership role that will work cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support both B2B wholesale and DTC e-commerce growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting

Lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

Own the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary liaison with external auditors

Financial Operations

Oversee AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, and treasury functions

Manage inventory and cost accounting across multiple channels and systems (e.g., Shopify, NetSuite, etc.)

Reconcile B2B and B2C revenue from multiple platforms and ensure accurate COGS allocation

Partner with Operations to ensure seamless integration between ERP, 3PL, and e-commerce platforms

Strategic Finance Support

Provide timely and actionable insights on margins, cash flow, and working capital

Support FP&A in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

Drive efficiencies in reporting and automation as the business scales

Manage and mentor a small team, with plans to scale

Partner with HR to ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and equity compensation

Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

CPA required; Big 4 or top-tier public accounting experience strongly preferred

7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in a high-growth consumer or e-commerce business

Deep understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition for omni-channel retail

Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Shopify, and marketplace integrations (e.g., NuORDER, JOOR)

Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools (Looker, Snowflake, etc.) or similar tools a plus

Proven ability to lead teams, streamline processes, and implement systems
