Publicly traded, Digital Media company with an international footprint, and an experienced/stable management team seeks a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This individual will be responsible for the production and drafting of the quarterly and annual SEC documents, technical accounting research and collaborating closely with Investor Relations and the business. RESPONSIBILITIES: Take the lead with regard to the preparation and production of the quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, including filings on Form 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy etc. This involves a focus on the business sections, risk factors, and MD&A. Support management in the preparation of SEC forms for any M&A or any capital markets activity. Draft appropriate disclosures through industry and peer benchmarking during quarterly and annual filings. Draft technical accounting memos mainly related to debt, share-based compensation, derivatives and purchase accounting. Review and update the XBRL for financial statements to the appropriate US GAAP taxonomy during quarterly and annual filings. Support in preparing materials for audit committee meetings and disclosure committee meetings. Coordinate communications with external auditors on financial statements to ensure agreement with company decisions on disclosures and reporting issues Research and document new SEC rules and regulations, SEC and accounting pronouncements and internal technical issues and assist in implementation of solutions Assist SOX testing including walkthroughs and internal controls Support the Director of Corporate Accounting with all close and revenue related issues This hybrid position is typically in the office 3 days a week but high achievers with significant professional experience will be considered under a reduced in office schedule. QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA in Business, Accounting or Finance with a CPA At least 10 years of experience in public accounting and industry (media/technology is a plus) Star candidates from Audit or Advisory may be considered Superior business partnership, written and oral communication skills Ability to interpret and apply U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements for publicly traded companies. Demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting research, write effective position papers, and communicate appropriate accounting treatment Seniority level
