The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine seeks an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive cardiology clinic care at the Instructor rank. The role involves diagnostic testing, history taking, patient education, and independent management of patients with suspected or confirmed cardiology diagnoses referred from Internal Medicine, Emergency physicians, or other specialties. Responsibilities Assist and coordinate patient care with referring providers, outpatient followups, and recommendations based on findings. Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, findings, and follow?up. Address patient and staff inquiries via medical record documentation. Document orders, procedures, and progress notes in the electronic medical record. Evaluate with diagnostic testing and history taking in patients with suspected or confirmed cardiology diagnoses referred from Internal Medicine, Emergency, or other specialties. Triage inpatient consults, manage patient phone calls, renew prescriptions, and coordinate care. Teach, provide service, and participate in research and academic advising as required. Represent the university on committees and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Masters or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent professional experience. Compliance with university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code Chapter?64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458, 459 and Florida Administrative Code Chapter?64. Board Certified or Board Eligible (preferred) as a Certified Acute Care or Acute Care Adult Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
