E2 Optics is a rapidly growing, award-winning, woman-owned technology integrator that provides innovative low voltage solutions. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver high-quality projects, with a focus on customer satisfaction and managing large-scale data center projects. The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to plan, execute, invoice and finalize projects according to published deadlines and within budget. This includes overseeing the acquisition of materials, coordinating team members and third‑party contractors or consultants, and ensuring on-time delivery of installation services while maintaining quality and budget alignment in accordance with the client’s plan and safety/quality requirements. Core Duties & Responsibilities

Pre-Project tasks Participate in the RFP process, reviewing plans, specifications and bid forms. Review contract/work orders for content, validity, and changes. Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to secure and expand business opportunities. Provide initial client interface to assess scope of work, schedule and resources required to complete a project. Work with Operations to ensure proper materials, equipment and labor are available; develop mobilization plans and oversee acquisition of required equipment. Develop resource plans and evaluate needs with site requirements. Manage project scheduling to control costs and meet contract requirements. Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships; streamline activities; communicate with staff and upper management on customer and job requirements. Attend progress update meetings and provide customers with progress reports as required by contract. Prepare and manage change orders with the customer’s tools; monitor installation activities with on-site personnel to ensure on-schedule delivery within budget. Partner with QA/QC to ensure specifications are communicated and achieved per the client quality plan. Manage job cost/profitability and schedules using internal systems; track changes and ensure SLAs are met; coordinate with customer teams on master schedule. Represent the company in client project meetings; participate in required meetings throughout the year as assigned. Project Close-Out: facilitate close-out efficiently, assist in accounts receivable when required, and secure customer acceptance and signoff. Provide coaching and development to direct reports and promote Lean initiatives across the site. Travel as required by E2. Education, Certifications & Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Certifications: PMP preferred; BICSI RCDD and BICSI RTPM preferred; OSHA 30 certified preferred. Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI standards. Experience: Minimum 2 years in commercial and/or data center construction and project management, including installation of standard cabling, rack infrastructure, and large-scale build projects; GMP contract experience preferred. Product experience with Panduit, CommScope, Corning, and others; successful completion of prior telecommunications projects; experience managing large projects (>$1M). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; able to perform root-cause analysis. Knowledge of structured cabling industry standards, safety, and technology trends. Ability to lead, develop and manage field staff; build cooperation across management, clients and departments. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work under deadlines with high quality output. Proficient in problem solving, information research and solution identification; ability to multi-task and adapt to change. Professional appearance and conduct; strong safety awareness. The standard work environment is indoors in an office and construction setting. May require extended periods of sitting or standing, use of computer and hand tools, and lifting up to 50 pounds (occasional) and 25 pounds (frequent). Willingness to travel as required by E2.
