The Opportunity In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work with multi-discipline teams to develop design materials for project assignments for heavy civil works projects such as generation, power infrastructure (transmission, distribution, substations), solar, wind, dams, buried infrastructure, tunnels, etc.
Perform analysis, design calculations, design sketches, and preparing geotechnical design reports to meet project requirements.
Perform, coordinate, and manage geotechnical field investigations.
Coordinate, manage, observe, and document geotechnical construction activities such as grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Focuses on coordinating internal teams and resources while working to understand client’s interests and needs.
Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details for projects such as power generation facilities, substations, transmission lines, solar sites, dams, canals, flood control projects, municipal water, wastewater, and pipelines.
Plan, design, and oversee geotechnical aspects for projects both in the office and in the field.
Be able to travel on field assignments as required. Field time is estimated at 20–40%.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with geotechnical investigations, grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, and retaining walls.
Prefer Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering.
Active Engineering‑In‑Training (EIT) preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
Certifications
Active Engineering‑In‑Training (EIT) License.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
