As a Speech Pathologist with WMQ, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the health and wellbeing of people in our community. You will work closely with senior practitioners and develop skills necessary for long-term success in the healthcare industry with graduate specific support. We have a team of over 90 staff across both campuses in Sinnamon Park and Chermside. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Dietetics, Podiatry, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing and more!
Your Role as Speech Pathologist
You’ll deliver person-centred services across aged care, disability, community, and wellbeing settings. You’ll empower individuals to live more independently, safely, and meaningfully by: Assessment of customer speech, language and/or swallow, and development of individual treatment plans and goals to address deficits in these areas Delivery of high-quality intervention and advice Regular review of customer treatment plans and goals Assisting customers to achieve optimum outcomes and safety in communication and swallow Provide instruction, supervision and education to customers, support workers and other carers as required Identify opportunities to provide other cross disciplinary services which may be of benefit to the customer Ensure that the customer is an active participant in the development and review of treatment goals and planning You’ll be primarily based at our Sinnamon Park or Chermside centres, with opportunities to work across other sites depending on client needs.
What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia Demonstrated ability to effectively work with staff, clients, and families Exceptional communication skills and a focus on patient-centred care Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy) NDIS Worker Screening Clearance Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
