Position Overview The Department of Food Systems, Nutrition, and Kinesiology seeks course instructors for the following areas:
Food and Nutrition
Sustainable Food Systems
Hospitality Management
Kinesiology
Health Enhancement (Physical and Health Education)
Coaching
Classifications: Instructor – Non‑Tenure Track Faculty (Pool). Contract includes semester, fall or spring appointments. Full‑time equivalent (FTE) varies; full salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and teach on‑campus or online courses in the specialty areas above.
Advise, evaluate, and support students in academic and personal development.
Contribute to curriculum and course development processes.
Engage in departmental service as required.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master’s degree or terminal degree in an appropriate field with an academic background comparable to teaching one or more of the specialty areas listed.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Academic and/or professional teaching experience.
Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
Knowledge of college student development.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Essential Competencies
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Positive contribution to student success and the mission of Montana State University.
Appreciation for diverse constituencies and ability to add intellectual diversity to the department.
