Assistant Professor of Plant Sciences – Pulse Crop Breeding
Position offered at Montana State University – Bozeman. Tenure‑track, faculty rank TT. Salary $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities
Direct and manage independent breeding program for pulse crops, including varietal development and testing.
Establish competitive, extramurally funded research programs focused on pulse crop improvement.
Publish scholarly research related to pulse breeding and genetics.
Teach, advise, and train undergraduate and graduate students.
Provide service to department, university, and community.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or closely related field.
Experience in field research and design of field experiments.
Proficiency in basic and advanced plant breeding and genetics techniques.
Record of publications in refereed journals.
Record of developing both basic and applied research projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful collaborations in plant breeding and plant pathology research.
Postdoctoral experience in plant genetics or related fields.
Experience teaching and mentoring students.
Track record of writing grant applications and obtaining extramural funding.
