Job Description This is a per‑diem position with an hourly rate of

$67.18 .

Essential Job Functions

Prepare and inject radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and department policies.

Measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas to obtain information for radiologists.

Perform cardiac nuclear studies, including stress MUGA, Thallium, and non‑gated Technetium studies; assist the physician with procedures as required.

Provide reports to the physician for review and interpretation within the specified timeframe.

Program computers for each procedure.

Document the reason for each test and note any allergies.

Employ proper aseptic techniques in IV insertion and administration.

Manage the nuclear schedule to ensure optimal utilization of time, patient flow, and patient needs. Perform daily and weekly quality‑assurance procedures, calibration, and flood analysis on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

Troubleshoot minor problems, report other issues, and direct those requiring repair to the supervisor, clinical manager, or physician.

Acquire clear images appropriate for the studies and accurately gate the study when required.

Conduct departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards for SMG, NRC, and EPA.

Follow proper procedures for spill and decontamination; report contamination to appropriate authorities and regulatory commissions.

Order and log appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals and dispose of radioisotopes according to industry standards and regulations.

Update nuclear policies and procedures to reflect current techniques and best practices; adhere to the nuclear/ProSolv workflow including preparing preliminary reports for the cardiologist.

Archive images according to SMG procedure.

General Job Functions

Perform quality assurance on a daily basis as required.

Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures.

Demonstrate knowledge of safety‑related work behaviors to maintain a safe work environment.

Perform other duties as required.

Education, Certification, and Experience

High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

BLS certification required.

0–1 year’s experience preferred; 2–4 years’ experience preferred.

IV certification required.

ARRT and CNMT certifications required.

Proficiency in performing nuclear medicine procedures and preparing radioactive isotopes.

Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to perform diverse assignments with accuracy.

Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and priority‑setting skills required.

Experience with imaging equipment, dose calibrator, Geiger counter, and other nuclear medicine tools preferred.

Experience with standard office equipment and Windows‑based technology preferred.

Travel Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.

Compensation Hourly rate of

$67.18 .
