FleetPride
As a skilled and experienced accountant in the FleetPride accounting organization, the Senior Corporate Accountant – Lease Administration will be responsible for managing all aspects of lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, terminations and subleases. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports audit processes, and collaborates across teams to maintain compliance and improve accounting operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Accounting and Monthly Close
Maintain the Company’s lease accounting and reporting solution.
Act as a power user for the ASC 842 Lease Accounting system.
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet account reconcilations related to leases.
Collaborate with real estate and fleet management teams to ensure timely capture of new leases and changes to existing leases.
Execute the monthly and quarterly close process for all functions associated with operating and capital leases.
Analyze monthly rental expenses period over period to identify any discrepancies.
Analyze and explain variances from budget and prior year.
Support accounting for acquisitions as needed.
Prepare account reconciliations and rollforwards for review by external auditors and collect and provide supporting documentation.
Prepare detailed process documentation associated with lease accounting activities and maintain these documents.
Act as secondary processor for fixed assets.
Other areas of corporate accounting as assigned. Responsibilities will grow as the lease administration process becomes consistent and allows for other tasks.
Systems & Process Improvements
Evaluate and implement financial systems improvements and automation opportunities.
Participate in cross-functional projects, as applicable, on behalf of the accounting organization.
Ensure data integrity and efficient use of technology in the accounting function.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Prior experience with lease accounting required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a medium to large corporate environment
Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Experience with ERPs with focused experience in AS400, Cognos / TM1, SQL and PowerBI considered a plus
Experience in a high-growth or mid-sized corporate environment
