District Manager, Regional & Key Accounts This is a fully remote position with a required base location in California. Travel throughout the state will be required.

What The Role Is The District Manager, CA Regional & Key Accounts, is responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening brand presence across California by managing key regional accounts, including multi‑unit On‑Premise customers, hotel chains, and designated high‑volume retail accounts. This role oversees the execution of strategic initiatives in partnership with Southern Glazer’s On‑Premise Regional/Hotel Accounts, as well as Key Account divisions.

Core responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies, implementing promotional programs, analyzing market performance, and ensuring achievement of sales goals and forecasts. The District Manager will ensure compliance with brand standards, alignment with company objectives, and consistent execution of promotional activity.

In addition to strategic oversight, this position provides leadership and direction to On‑Premise and Off‑Premise Channel Managers, as well as local distributor sales teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. The District Manager will work closely with the HHB Regional Manager, California, to design, implement, and evaluate depletion goals, KPIs, pricing strategies, and programming within the distributor network.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

Manage the day‑to‑day sales activities of the On‑Premise Channel Managers and Off Premise Channel Managers, ensuring that goals and programs are executed and achieved.

Be visible at the distributor office, meeting with On Premise Regional Accounts and Key Accounts sales leadership & management to ensure share of mind in pursuit of Heaven Hill’s goals and objectives.

Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key regional accounts in the on- and off‑premise channels to ensure proper brand distribution, promotion, activation, and shelf management are taking place.

Develop and execute account plans to increase distribution, secure menu placements, and drive sales volume throughout designated Key Accounts.

Ability to manage distributors relating to the development and implementation of local merchandising program and ongoing performance evaluation.

Managing distributor on a day‑to‑day basis, ensuring adherence to our brand policies, distribution objectives are achieved, and promotional activity is taking place.

Direct distributor selling activities to achieve sales, distribution, and merchandising goals.

Act as primary contact for distributor sales leadership & management to ensure they are informed of local and national objectives and programs while providing support for all sales‑related activities.

Ability to negotiate pricing with distributor management.

Responsible for educating distributors and sales staff.

Supporting Regional Manager‑Direct report.

Observe competitive market activity and evaluate distributor execution against our initiatives.

Provide National Account mandate compliance and pricing requests in a timely fashion.

Stay informed and knowledgeable of customer and consumer trends.

Provide monthly market activity report to Regional Manager, including a list of objectives, accomplishments, competitive activity, special projects, and/or any needs.

Successfully launch all new products, achieving volume and distribution objectives.

Provide feedback on the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives.

Review programs and execution updates with distributor leadership & management.

Maintain accurate records regarding distributor profiles, organizational structures, and competitive brand alignments.

Manage all T&E expenses and local budgets for the market.

Stay informed and knowledgeable of all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the market, and keep management informed of all information about changes.

Who You Are…

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field recommended.

Minimum five (5) years’ sales experience in spirits or wine industry.

Minimum two (2) years’ people management experience.

Proficient using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proficient with distributor/broker databases for communication and analytics of the business.

Excellent critical thinking skills.

Analytical skills, gathering data from a wide variety of sources, and presenting it in formats suitable for a wide variety of audiences.

Good managerial and effective presentation skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Must be customer‑centric with good negotiation and business expansion skills.

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Valid Driver’s License required.

In California, the expected compensation range for this role is between $118,000 and $128,000. Actual starting pay may differ based on non‑discriminatory factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
