Program Quality Engineer - Ultra / Naval Power
Location: AZ201: RMS AP Bldg 801 1151 East Hermans Road Building 801, Tucson, AZ, 85756, USA. Position is onsite. U.S. citizenship required for security clearance (Secret).
At Raytheon, we help our nation defend freedoms. Join our team as a Program Quality Engineer supporting the Advanced Common Products (ACP) in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you'll drive a robust quality culture, practices, and collaboration across multiple contracts.
What You Will Do
Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
Develop partnerships with program and production leaders, IPTs, and other functions to drive issue resolution and implement improved processes.
Implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that directly affect program execution and influence.
Initiate and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed‑loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
Interpret command media in compliance with work requirements.
Generate new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce program costs.
Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.
Qualification You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of prior experience in the areas below:
Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
Working experience translating external and internal requirements and command media.
Working experience in providing technical program expertise for manufacturing and/or design processes.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications We Prefer
Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications.
Experience in engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
Experience using interpersonal skills with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.
Experience using PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Capability Assessments.
Experience in hardware inspections and inspection standards.
Demonstrated passion, high‑energy, self‑starting team player who achieves goals and continuously improves.
Proficiency with Process Re‑invention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM) or SAP.
Experience facilitating cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities.
Experience working with and technically interfacing with various engineering disciplines.
Experience applying judgment and resolution‑making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention.
Excellent verbal and written communication and networking with stakeholders.
