Instructional Designer, Marketing
will support the Manager of Instructional Design in developing and designing core training programs that enhance the skills and performance of our marketing teams with occasional support to sales. They’ll collaborate with stakeholders to update or create engaging learning materials and implement effective instructional strategies that align with business goals. Responsibilities include content creation, delivering training (in-person or virtually), and evaluating program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
How You’ll Shine
Create instructional materials such as e-learning or short videos, manuals, job aids, and assessments using industry-standard tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, etc.).
Create, update, and manage training decks for instructor-led sessions designed Adobe InDesign.
Customize content for various delivery formats (eLearning, live training, blended learning) based on the needs of diverse learner populations.
Closely adhere to development according to popular learning design models including ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.
Collaborate with corporate and field marketing stakeholders as well as subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess training needs and define learning gaps for system/software adoption, upgrades, and processes.
Assist in integrating new technology and tools to enhance the learner experience (e.g., gamification, mobile learning, virtual classrooms).
Ensure training materials align with organizational goals and support specific sales and marketing initiatives.
Analyze feedback from learners to improve course content and delivery methods continuously.
Work with greater Sales & Marketing Instructional Design team to ensure training follows sales and marketing training brand standards.
Create new and update existing marketing curriculum, including ongoing topical training and support of new premiums and product rollouts.
Design multi-media training courses/videos using various tools, including Adobe InDesign, Canva, Synthesia, Storyline and other industry-leading tools.
Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deliver, track, and manage training programs.
Create SOPs, Job Aids and other training documents as needed.
Run reporting/analytics on training usage for ongoing evaluation.
Travel Requirements
The job requires occasional travel for 1-3 days to T+L sales/marketing locations to meet with the marketing department on needs analysis, evaluation and site support.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and/or instruction or related field.
Training, Instructional Design and/or PMP certifications a plus.
Comprehensive understanding of instructional design models, such as ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
Planning, coordinating and organizing—capacity to manage workflow, competing priorities and accountability for quality of individual work.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across teams and engage with stakeholders.
Experience with eLearning development software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), LMS platforms, and basic multimedia production.
Additional graphic software skills (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) are not necessary, but a plus.
Ability to handle multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Possess a positive, can-do attitude and ability to provide excellent customer/client service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clear, engaging, and accessible content for diverse learner groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint.
Experience with course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.
Knowledge of tools like Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).
Experience with using Learning Management Systems to publish training content.
Ability to create infographics and diagrams.
3+ years of instructional design or learning and development experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
