Right of Way Agent – Easement Acquisitions
ProSource, a leader in right of way acquisition and relocation, is seeking a Right of Way Agent with Easement Acquisition experience for a project in Madison, WI. The role will be based in Madison area with a commutable distance to the region.
Job Summary The Right of Way Agent is responsible for acquiring property rights to construct, operate, and maintain a specific project. This agent will assist with landowner and permit agency negotiations for the acquisition of real estate right‑of‑way.
Duties / Responsibilities
Negotiate property agreements and secure legal permissions for land usage.
Draft required documentation and contracts for property rights acquisition.
Mediating and negotiating agreements with landowners and agencies.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Cold‑call and meet with landowners to gain right‑of‑way access.
Consult with landowners to resolve concerns or disputes related to property acquisition.
Work in coordination with surveyors, engineers, and other team members.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent minimum; bachelor’s degree in real estate, business administration, or related field preferred.
Proven work experience as a Right of Way Agent, Real Estate Agent, or similar role.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to resolve disputes.
Ability to interpret and analyze complex/detailed data such as legal descriptions, appraisals, surveys, and engineering maps/drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Can‑do attitude and willingness to engage in a collaborative process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands & Work Environment The Right of Way Agent will spend a significant amount of time in the field, using a computer and other standard office equipment. The position may require travel to client locations, meeting with landowners and other designated sites. The agent may be required to sit or stand for extended periods and may need to lift light equipment.
