LIHTC Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements. This opportunity specializes in LIHTC.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with travel to property locations as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.

Review files within 24 hours of receiving.

Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.

Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement modifications as indicated.

Attend TDHCA trainings annually. Attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and obtain a passing score for the HCCP designation.

Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.

Travel: Estimated 50% of work time annually for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business‑related activities.

Education & Experience

Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.

Strong computer literacy skills, including RealPage OneSite Tax Credit software.

Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) certification is a plus; if not already certified, attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and achieve a passing score.

Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.

Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
