As a Staff Full-Stack Engineer for the Public Cloud Analytics & FinOps Engineering Platform, you will design, implement, and deliver core features for our multi-cloud and private cloud cost governance platform. Your primary focus will be on the BI platform layer. You will collaborate closely with data engineering teams and work hands-on with cutting-edge tools and frameworks like Trino, dbt, Iceberg, and Lightdash to build robust, scalable features that enable cloud financial management at enterprise scale. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact platform from an early stage. This is a full-time, hybrid position where you'll contribute to cross-functional teams building the future of FinOps at ServiceNow. What you get to do in this role: Feature Development: Design and implement FinOps-specific visualizations, dashboards, and integrations with production-ready quality BI Platform Implementation: Build and enhance the business intelligence layer using Lightdash, focusing on cloud cost analytics and governance visualizations Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineering teams working on Trino, dbt, and Iceberg to ensure seamless integration with the BI layer Code Quality: Master the Lightdash monorepo, contribute high-quality code following best practices, and write comprehensive tests Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with data modeling, ingestion, and query optimization teams to deliver cohesive solutions Technical Excellence: Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help establish development workflows To be successful in this role you have: Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry. Frontend Expertise (Primary Focus): React 19 with modern hooks and patterns TypeScript with strong type system knowledge Mantine v8 UI component library with Emotion CSS-in-JS styling Vite build system with TanStack Query for server state management Monaco Editor integration for code editing experiences Backend Proficiency: Node.js with Express.js framework PostgreSQL with Knex.js for database operations and migrations TSOA for OpenAPI specification and authentication patterns Development Tools & Practices: Monorepo experience: pnpm workspaces with TypeScript project references Testing: Jest testing framework Docker containerization and deployment Git workflows including fork management Data & Analytics (Important): SQL query writing and basic optimization Business Intelligence tools and visualization best practices Data visualization libraries (ECharts, D3, or similar) dbt concepts and workflows (nice to have) Cloud platforms - experience with at least one (AWS, Azure, or GCP) FinOps principles and cloud cost management concepts (nice to have) Must-Have: 8+ years full-stack development experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. GCS-23 For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $163,600 - $286,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE)
