HDR has an excellent opportunity in the Georgia-Alabama/Mississippi Water Business Group for a professional to lead the growth, control, direction, and quality of the Area's Pump Station and Pipelines Business Class. The Business Class Leader (BCL) is a professional well-versed in all aspects of Business Class services for pump stations and pipeline projects, leading a team of professionals. Due to current backlog and upcoming opportunities, we need to fill this BC position immediately.

The duties of the Pump Station and Pipelines BCL include planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of large-scale, multi-discipline projects with high technical complexity. The role involves building and maintaining client relations, participating in project development, and coordinating with senior, mid-, and junior-level staff across disciplines such as structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, and GIS. The position also requires coordination with HDR's regional and national business class leads.

As a Business Class Lead, you will participate in the corporate management of the pump station and pipeline program, including technical and quality reviews of projects beyond your geographic area.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide leadership with technical capabilities within the Pump Station and Pipelines BC.

Ensure delivery of technical skills, manage/supervise BC staff, and integrate national initiatives into local operations.

Maintain QA/QC procedures and monitor area performance to meet goals.

Drive technical sector growth in the area and support top-line growth across market sectors.

Facilitate teamwork and communication across offices, disciplines, and management levels.

Serve as client manager, project principal, or PM, and participate in project management to meet utilization targets.

Build and retain strong relationships with staff, project managers, and clients.

Contribute to business trends analysis and strategic planning.

Manage staff workloads, training, licensing, and staff development processes.

Support marketing efforts, proposal development, and recruitment.

Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and client relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with MS Office Suite and database tools like SharePoint.

Minimum of 7 years' experience leading projects and teams in pump stations and pipelines.

Ability to manage projects, budgets, and develop cost estimates.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.

Understanding of industry standards, laws, and policies.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Proven contract development and capital improvement implementation experience.

Self-starter with a success-oriented attitude.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Professional, Architecture, Engineering).

10 years of relevant experience.

Professional registration and experience managing diverse teams.
