Azure Data Engineering Team Software Engineer Opportunity

Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture. Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team is hiring a software engineer. Our product processes exabytes of data per day on behalf of Microsoft internal teams in a scalable and performant manner. We are working on improving reliability, performance, and integration with other big data products. We do not just value differences or different perspectives. Responsibilities Develops Big Data system infrastructure and processing engine in C/C++/C# and Python. Participates in designs and write production-level, high-quality code. Deploys and maintain software to meet significant reliability, security and service level requirements. Works in a team of software and hardware engineers to deploy working systems to a very large user base. Handles live site issues. Embody our culture and values. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field. Technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. C++ experience. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. Preferred/Additional Qualifications Experience on Big Data Engines Experience with data formats like deltatables and parquet Microsoft will accept applications for the role until October 28, 2025.
