COBOL Developer
IDR is seeking a COBOL Developer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role is within a government agency supporting critical state systems, specifically focused on eligibility and client services. Position Overview for the COBOL Developer: Support the State of Washington ACES project by developing and maintaining mainframe-based solutions. Develop, test, and optimize COBOL programs and CICS transactions for core application functionality. Write, modify, and optimize DB2 queries and stored procedures to ensure system efficiency. Develop and manage JCL scripts for batch processing and automation tasks. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure minimal system downtime. Requirements for the COBOL Developer: Advanced proficiency in COBOL coding, debugging, and performance optimization (8+ years). Advanced knowledge of CICS online transaction processing and system integration. Advanced skills in DB2 database development, query optimization, and data management. Advanced experience developing and maintaining JCL batch jobs. Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
