We are searching for a Shipping Clerk. The Shipping Clerk will compile and maintain records regarding shipments, put away and letdown paperwork. This position will be responsible for ensuring data entry is conducted on a timely basis to ensure up-to-date inventory numbers. The Shipping Clerk will assist with all shipping and receiving procedures while providing excellent customer service. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that the paperwork for all shipments leaving the distribution center is complete and accurate. You will check drivers in and out throughout the day, handle bills of lading (BOLs), and utilize various systems while frequently interacting with warehouse personnel and carriers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as a normal practice. Processing inbound and outbound shipments in the warehouse. Obtaining put-away and letdown paperwork from the off-going shift and entering the information into RUMBO. Creating a new Complete Inventory Report for the current shift. Obtaining outbound paperwork from the Shipping Supervisor and completing the transaction in the system. Obtaining signatures from all outside carriers on Bills of Lading and Delivery receipts. Working with all members of the department to identify and develop corrective action plans to eliminate inaccurate/damaged shipments. Identifying customer shortages and verifying warehouse inventory to determine the validity of shortage claims. In conjunction with Transportation, tracking and identifying OS&D figures and developing methods to reduce such claims. Developing methods to improve the department through selection and inventory improvements as identified. Entering inventory counts on quarterly reconciliation and developing recount sheets based on given parameters. Interacting with warehouse associates and troubleshooting issues. Assisting with daily and weekly reports. Working jointly with Supervisors and Management to meet warehouse metrics. Prioritizing workload and having flexibility to adjust based on position requirements. Performing other clerical duties as identified by the department manager. Participating in special projects and performing other duties as required. In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for: Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in compliance with all Company policies and procedures. Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior while completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices relevant to your job. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires a good working knowledge of the SQF code. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of shipping/receiving experience. 1 year of customer service experience is a plus. WMS experience required. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong computer and mathematical skills required. Frequent interaction with warehouse workers with daily tasks; good interpersonal skills required. Multi-tasking required; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor/Manager. What can Europastry offer to you?
