CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Edge Operations Monitoring Specialist within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. The Edge Operations Monitoring Specialist monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots edge computing systems by analyzing data, detecting anomalies, and resolving issues to ensure efficient and reliable operation. Key responsibilities include utilizing monitoring tools, collaborating with technical teams, responding to alerts, and improving processes to maintain operational health, especially in distributed environments where processing occurs closer to data sources. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities include: Real-time Monitoring: Continuously track the performance and health of edge devices and systems using specialized monitoring platforms. Anomaly Detection: Identify deviations, errors, and performance bottlenecks by analyzing metrics and data generated at the edge. Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues on edge devices, such as system failures, connectivity problems, and software malfunctions. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze performance data from edge locations to identify trends, predict potential issues, and gather insights for process improvement. Collaboration and Escalation: Liaise with operations, engineering, and other internal teams to coordinate efforts and escalate complex problems for resolution. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, monitoring activities, and resolutions using ticketing and documentation tools. Proactive Maintenance: Develop strategies and implement solutions to improve system stability and prevent future operational problems. Liaison and Communication: Communicate technical information, alerts, and resolution statuses clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required qualifications to be successful in this role include: Junior: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 0 to 2 years of experience Security Clearance: TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired Technical Expertise: Strong background in IT systems, networks, and operational processes relevant to edge computing environments. Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with IT monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Nagios, Zabbix) and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow). Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions under pressure. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data analysis, incident reporting, and documentation. Familiarity with Cloud/Edge Technologies: Knowledge of how edge computing, cloud computing, and data center operations integrate and interact. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200,000.00.
