Job Summary This position works in the field assisting the field crew chief with houseline surveying services, topographic surveys, tree surveys, wetland surveys, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
Accountability and Duties
Ensures timesheets are submitted accurately and on‑time
Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each entry on a daily basis
Keeps supervisors informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services
Maintains a good relationship with clients and staff
Works closely and coordinates with staff and site superintendents
Understands and accurately uses all field survey instruments
Properly maintains and takes care of field equipment
Obtains & reads information for the daily projects
Maintains and electronically files legible field notes and sketches
Successfully uploads and downloads calibration files to/from collector
Responsible for stocking the company vehicle each morning (supplies & equipment)
Accurately assists crew chiefs with houseline surveying services
Accurately assists crew chiefs with topographic, tree, and wetland surveys
Accurately assists crew chiefs with boundary and ALTA surveys
Accurately assists crew chiefs with construction staking services
Accurately assists crew chiefs with record drawings
Required Qualifications, Licenses, & Registration
Valid driver’s license required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess a high school diploma
Available to work overtime as needed to complete projects
Available to work in the field in all weather conditions
Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
Desire to learn and improve field skills and survey knowledge
Must be fluent in the English language
Physical Demands To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions on extended assignments.
