MUSC Health . The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Grants Administrator I. The incumbent will develop, prepare, and submit grant proposals via various online systems and provide technical financial assistance post‑award to investigators, administrative managers, and division administrators. The position will also support procurement of contractual and consulting activities associated with grant awards.

Responsibilities

Assist ASD faculty with development and preparation of grant proposals and submissions (35%) – liaison with investigators, obtain and review program announcements, assist with budget justification, and engage subcontractors and consultants.

Maintain fiscal/accounting duties for ASD (35%) – analyze and provide detailed narratives for sponsored awards, prepare quarterly financial reports, oversee payroll costing and adjustment tasks, and review non‑payroll transactions.

Perform duties related to receipt and administration of funded awards (25%) – assist PI and ORSP in award establishment, renewal, and closing; maintain documentation for subcontracts and consultants; assist with effort changes and reporting.

Other duties as assigned (5%).

Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Prior experience with grant submissions (pre‑award) and grant financial management (post‑award).

Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with coworkers and other departments such as the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Grants and Contracts Accounting.

Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of business, personnel, grant‑in‑aid, or public administration experience.

Additional Requirements Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions in an upright and seated position, walk, work indoors and outdoors, handle confined spaces where appropriate, lift 15 lbs unassisted, maintain vision and hearing standards, and perform frequent fine motor movements. Computer literacy is required.

Employment Details Employment type: Full‑time. Salary: $47,588.00 – $67,817.00. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. FLSA: Salaried. Work hour: 40 per week.
