Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer within PNC's Lending organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Dallas TX or Birmingham AL. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. This team does development for backend credit card systems. We provide information about credit cards once they are approved to other systems as needed regarding usage, payments, etc. This person would work as part of an Agile crew, attending daily standups and typical agile ceremonies. Developer would participate in ensuring stories in Jira have all the information that is needed to complete the work. Developer would update stories as they complete in Jira, work with testers to test their code as it is developed, and create change requests in Service Now for deploying their code during a release. Developer is responsible for ensuring they have what they need to complete their work. Everyone on the team should feel comfortable to speak up if they need help, do not understand, or need more work. Developer will work with the Tech Lead, Business Systems Analyst, Scrum Master, and Testers on the team to ensure work gets completed correctly and on time for each release. Developer should be comfortable attending meetings both online and in person in the office, able to use Teams and Outlook effectively, as well as Excel and Visio for documentation of all code. Ability to troubleshoot Incident tickets as they come in, willing to dig in and ask questions, meet with users, get enough information to help troubleshoot problems. Preferred Skills: Java / APIs, CI/CD Pipelines, Angular, Database / Sql Understanding, experience with at least one relational database, Ability to Troubleshoot, some data analysis, mapping, design flows. Develops, tests and implements software solutions. Designs software solutions to address business needs. Writes code, tests and deploys software. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software. Maintains and debugs software.
