Job Summary The Accountant is responsible for accurately analyzing, calculating, and recording payroll and general accounting data across all divisions. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate accounting policies while supporting management with timely, accurate financial information to drive informed business decisions. The position collaborates closely with payroll processing, payroll tax, payroll systems, and other accounting functions. A strong understanding of payroll-related accounts, exceptional analytical skills, and clear communication are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly journal entries and perform assigned account reconciliations for month‑end close.

Analyze financial transactions to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies or irregularities.

Utilize accounting and payroll systems to compile, retrieve, and summarize financial data for analysis and reporting.

Prepare clear and organized work papers in accordance with management and auditor requirements.

Support management with ad hoc reports, analyses, and special projects as needed.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, corporate policies, and SOX requirements.

Review and provide feedback on balance sheet reconciliations prepared by staff and senior accountants.

Identify and recommend process improvements and opportunities for standardization across payroll accounting operations.

Deliver accurate and timely customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience, with strong Excel proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accountancy or related discipline.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or active CPA candidate.

Experience with Oracle HCM Fusion and/or PeopleSoft HRMS preferred (training available for qualified candidates).
