Research Assistant, Target Discovery, Immuno-Oncology
Orion Pharma is making strategic investments in challenging R&D areas where our expertise can drive breakthroughs—particularly in cancer therapies. As part of this commitment, we are enhancing our oncology research capabilities by establishing dedicated Target Discovery teams within each of our oncology research units: Immuno-Oncology, Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC), and Cancer Genomics.
In Turku, Finland, you will work in the Immuno‑Oncology (IO) unit as a full‑time, permanent, on‑site Research Assistant reporting to the IO Target Discovery Lead. Orion Pharma will support relocation.
Your Key Responsibilities
Culture primary and established mammalian cells.
Support immunology scientists with in‑vitro and ex‑vivo cell‑based assays.
Process blood samples following SOPs.
Analyze samples using flow cytometry, cell sorting, qRT‑PCR, western blotting, multiplex ELISA, and Incucyte assays.
Assist in establishing and improving SOP documentation.
Maintain high standards of record‑keeping, housekeeping, and routine laboratory decontamination.
Maintain laboratory equipment and order consumables to keep stock levels adequate.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of laboratory experience with human primary immune cells.
Experience with primary immune cells and cancer cells; performing cellular assays is required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Basic IT skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and Diva is preferred.
Experience in flow cytometry and multiplex ELISA is an advantage.
Industry experience is a plus but not required.
