Job Description And Duties

THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is recruiting for a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join the Information Technology (IT) Branch at EDD to work as a Section Chief, IT Manager II, over the Cloud Technology Services (CTS) Section.

Under the general direction of the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) Chief, the Section Chief is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and overseeing the activities of the CTS Section. These responsibilities include strategic planning and leadership, budgeting and resource management, team management and talent development, technical oversight, and managing all functions and personnel within the CTS units to achieve the unit's objectives successfully.

The incumbent will play a key role in collaborating with the ISD Chief and other executive-level management to formulate business strategies and plans related to technology use. Additionally, the incumbent must justify, defend, negotiate, and resolve significant or controversial issues.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change as business needs arise. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office on their assigned in-office days. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
